Due to the work implemented in the framework of the EU-funded \u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d project, the activities of CSOs have had an impact on the development of public policies in the health sector.<\/p>\n
As a result of the expert support of the \u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d project, the Armenian Association of Young Doctors and the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association have long and reasonably argued about the problems of the new legislative regulations related to prescription drugs.<\/p>\n
As a result of these regulations, practically serious problems have arisen for doctors and patients, in case of prescribing drugs and purchasing drugs.<\/p>\n
The mentioned CSOs submitted a joint note to all factions of the National Assembly to hold parliamentary hearings on this issue. Meetings were also organized with the head of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs and the representative of \u201cTsarukyan\u201d Faction.<\/p>\n
As a result of these activities Parliamentary hearings on the theme \u201cForms of Prescription, Writing Prescriptions, Ordering Medications, and Defining Medications and Pharmaceutical Records\u201d were held on 26 March.<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Armenian Association of Young Doctors and the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association noted that although they are for the idea of drug prescribing, such as self-medication or so-called \u201cdrug addiction\u201d, there is a need to revise these legal regulations and adapt them to the Armenian reality to introduce existing mechanisms to control and curb the corruption risks.<\/p>\n
