\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lack of methodological platform, monitoring and project development capacities within the framework of Armenian communities’ liabilities within the Covenant of Mayors;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Limited involvement of women in community energy and climate change mitigation and adaptation policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Activity 1<\/em>.<\/strong>\u00a0Monitoring and improvement of local governments\u2019 actions in energy efficiency and climate change mitigation and adaptation:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0 \u00a0 Development of national Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan \u2013 SECAP\u00a0\u2013 template (in\u00a0Armenian)<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Development of SECAP Monitoring and reporting package<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Establishment of a Unified, online electronic reporting and monitoring Platform<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Populating the Online Platform and establishment of regular data collection and entry<\/span><\/p>\n

Activity 2.<\/strong> Development regulations or sub-legislative acts for promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy development with application of international best practices:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Activity 3\u2024<\/strong><\/em> Enhance the role of women in the oversight and public monitoring of communities\u2019 activities\u00a0<\/em>in energy efficiency, renewable energy and climate change mitigation:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stocktaking and solicitation endorsed to relevant women experts for potential inclusion in the oversight<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Training and capacity building of selected women experts in public oversight<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Development of a database of relevant women experts for potential expansion of the coalition and networking<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Population of the Monitoring platform by selected women experts<\/span><\/p>\n

Pr<\/strong>imary Target: <\/strong>Covenant of Mayors Signatory communities including Yerevan, Aparan and Artik. Secondary target: all other active communities\/signatories, pending local resource access. <\/span><\/p>\n

Duration: 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Second Project\u00a0\u2013\u00a0\u201cStrengthening the Capacities of the Coalition of CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Main goal: To strengthen the\u00a0capacities of the Coalition of CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development established within the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project and institutionalisation of the coalition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The specific objectives (SO) of the project are:\u00a0<\/span>
\nSO 1 \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0creation of a secretariat for the CSO coalition;\u00a0<\/span>
\nSO 2 \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0capacity building of the governing bodies of the CSO coalition;<\/span>
\nSO 3 \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0formation of state-CSO sustainable sectoral dialogue through the CSO coalition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The establishment of the CSO coalition in the field of sustainable energy gave an opportunity to reveal the real state of capacities of the CSOs of the sector. A number of issues often occur among CSOs:<\/span><\/p>\n

\uf0b7 Poor, not updated information on the sectoral issues;<\/span>
\n\uf0b7 Poor awareness of sectoral policy developments;\u00a0<\/span>
\n\uf0b7 Poor institutional capacities;<\/span>
\n\uf0b7 Poor representation on public platforms;\u00a0<\/span>
\n\uf0b7 Poor use of contemporary information technologies;<\/span>
\n\uf0b7 Poor fundraising opportunities;<\/span>
\n\uf0b7 Limited governance skills.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In such conditions, it is necessary for the establishment of the CSO coalition in the sector of energy that the balanced development of the capacities of all coalition members is ensured.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
