{"id":3464,"date":"2018-08-21T19:04:59","date_gmt":"2018-08-21T15:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ccd.armla.am\/en\/?p=3464"},"modified":"2018-09-26T17:35:25","modified_gmt":"2018-09-26T13:35:25","slug":"problems-related-to-early-release-were-discussed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccd.armla.am\/en\/3464.html","title":{"rendered":"Problems Related to Early Release Were Discussed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">On 21 August 2018, in the scope of the &#8220;Step towards Just Armenia&#8221; sub-grant project implemented in the scope of the &#8220;Commitment to Constructive Dialogue&#8221; project, a joint working discussion was held in the Vagharshapat Residency of the Armavir Marz Unit of the Probation Service with Artak Kirakosyan, the Director of the &#8220;Civil Society Institute&#8221; NGO, Yevgenia Ivanova, a responsible employee from the same NGO and a former member of the independent commission, marz head of unit Karen Stepanyan, chief specialists, and a group of volunteers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">During the working visit, the existing issues pertaining to early release were discussed and practical information was collected for an analysis. The Armavir Unit was selected because of being the biggest penitentiary in both Armenia and the region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The\u00a0<strong>\u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a consortium of civil society organizations, which are the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO, Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), the \u201cArmenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS\u201d NGO, the \u201cInternational Center for Human Development\u201d Public Organization, the \u201cSME Cooperation Association\u201d NGO and the Union of Communities of Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The overall objective of the project is to enhance the influence of CSOs and their coalitions (networks) on the public policy process.
