More than 120 citizens of the Akhuryan and Ashotsk communities participated in the discussion. They discussed the scenarios proposed in Town Hall format in different groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The discussion was organised in the scope of the &#8220;Participatory Monitoring for the Creation of Smart Communities in Armenia&#8221; project. The discussion was held by International Centre for Human Development. Similar discussions are also expected to be held in the Lori and Tavush regions.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The video on the Town Hall discussion in the Shirak Region can be found<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CompassCenterNGO\/videos\/308283340018648\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here.<\/a><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The &#8220;HamaZarK&#8221; coalition of civil society organisations is implementing the\u00a0&#8220;Participatory Monitoring for the Creation of Smart Communities in Armenia&#8221; project in the scope of a grant allocated by the &#8220;Commitment to Constructive Dialogue&#8221; project.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The\u00a0<strong>\u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a consortium of civil society organizations, which are the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO, Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), the \u201cArmenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS\u201d NGO, the \u201cInternational Center for Human Development\u201d Public Organization, the \u201cSME Cooperation Association\u201d NGO and the Union of Communities of Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The overall objective of the project is to enhance the influence of CSOs and their coalitions (networks) on the public policy process. This will enable the organizations (that already work in target coalitions) to gain new resources, unite civil society experts and encourage them to participate in the formation of local and national policy agenda, identify the common problems and priorities and to apply to the government with constructive and strategic policy initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">In the scope of the project, sub-grants will be allocated to CSOs and CSO coalitions, aiming at public policy development and achieving tangible results in the\u00a0<strong>9 target sectors:<\/strong>\u00a0justice, human rights, public finance management, business, education, social sector: social inclusion of children with disabilities, agriculture, economy, energy.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 27 November 2018, a Town Hall discussion was held in the enlarged Akhuryan community on waste collection issues in communities.
