{"id":4141,"date":"2018-12-19T20:53:20","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T16:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ccd.armla.am\/en\/?p=4141"},"modified":"2019-05-29T09:16:12","modified_gmt":"2019-05-29T05:16:12","slug":"the-third-general-assembly-of-the-cso-anti-corruption-coalition-of-armenia-was-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccd.armla.am\/en\/4141.html","title":{"rendered":"The Third General Assembly of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia Was Held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Third General Assembly of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia was held on 19 December, 2018, within the framework of an anti-corruption event dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">President of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association, Coordinator of Secretariat of the Coalition\u00a0Karen Zadoyan presented the report on the activities of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia for the period of 21.07.2017-31.10.2018. After the discussions the report was adopted. Further, Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, Ms Mariam zadoyan and Mr. Marat Atovmyan, the representatives of the Coalition presented the Coalition\u2019s Strategy for 2019-2023, which also was confirmed after the discussions. The Strategy reflects the strategic goals, objectives and action plan of the Coalition. The 3 main goals are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Increase the effectiveness of public monitoring of the government anti-corruption reforms by civil society organizations (hereinafter CSOs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Promote the development and implementation of effective policies and mechanisms for the elimination of corruption; promote the development of integrity, and the accountable, and professional governance system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Promote to the formation and rooting of public perception of corruption as a threat for the society; formation of the attitude of intolerance and resistance towards corruption; formation of demand for honest management among the public and raising public awareness through reopening and operation of the anti-corruption centers based on anti-corruption education, prevention of corruption and the inevitability of punishment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The main issues here are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">To contribute to the introduction of independent universal anti-corruption professional body in Armenia based on the best international practices;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">To contribute to the protection of the whistleblowers\u2019 rights in the Republic of Armenia and the launch of the unified System of Online Whistleblowing Platform;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Further development of the\u00a0anonymous electronic platform for reporting\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"http:\/\/bizprotect.am\/\">bizprotect.am;<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">To contribute to the implementation of the reforms of the institute of illicit enrichment \u00a0and conducting monitoring of cases on illicit enrichment;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">To contribute to the introduction of the register of beneficial owners in Armenia based on the best international evidence based practices;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">To contribute to the introduction of the Institute for the Restoration of Stolen Assets in Armenia and capacity building of this sector;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Promote implementation of Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs in Armenian Companies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Notably, the last issue was implemented by the proposal of the \u201cArmenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms\u201d Project which is implemented by the \u201cCenter for International Private Enterprise\u201d (CIPE), the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO (ALA),\u00a0the \u201cCorporate Governance Center\u201d (CGC), and the Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (YerCCI).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The elections of the Governing Board of\u00a0the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia took place during the conference as well.\u00a0The number of members of the Coalition\u2019s Governing Board was approved first. Further, the election of the new members of the Governing Board was held.\u00a0Below is the list of the new composition of the Governing Board:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cInternational Center for Human Development\u201d Public Organization,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cAudio-Visual Journalists Association\u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cTerritorial Development and Research Center\u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cArmenian Association of Young Doctors\u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cSmall and Medium Business Fund\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cUnion of Advanced Technology Enterprises\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cAssociation\u00a0of\u00a0Accountants\u00a0of\u00a0SME\u00a0of\u00a0Armenia \u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cAstghatsolk\u201d NGO for Sustainable Development Initiatives<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cKantegh\u201d Human Rights NGO in Gyumri<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u201cUnion of Communities of Armenia\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cCenter of Economic Rights\u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u201cJournalists for Human Rights\u201d NGO<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">This material has been prepared in the scope of the \u201cArmenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms\u201d Project implemented by the \u201cCenter for International Private Enterprise\u201d, the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO, the \u201cCorporate Governance Center\u201d NGO and the \u201cYerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry\u201d with financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy. The project is implemented as a co-financing to the \u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d action implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium comprising the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO, the \u201cArmenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS\u201d NGO, the \u201cInternational Center for Human Development\u201d NGO, the \u201cSME Cooperation Association\u201d NGO, the Union of Communities of Armenia, as well as \u201cAgora Central Europe\u201d NGO (Czech Republic).
