On February 27, members of the Support for Probation\u00a0National Network met with Deputy Justice Minister Suren Krmoyan, Head of the Probation Service Arsen Navasardyan and Head of Department for Drafting Anti-Corruption and Penitentiary Policies of the RA Ministry of Justice Karen Hakobyan.<\/p>\n
The Support for Probation\u00a0National Network has been established and strengthened within the framework of the sub-project provided by the European Union-funded\u00a0\u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d project.<\/p>\n
At the same time, the Support for Probation National Network is implementing the sub-grant project “Step to Fair Armenia” provided by the CCD.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the monitoring process of the Probation Service\u00a0by the Network, issues related to conditional early release, as well as other issues related to the cooperation between the Network and the Ministry of Justice were discussed.<\/p>\n
In particular, the Network Management Board Chairman Artak Kirakosyan stressed once again the importance of direct interactions with the beneficiaries\u00a0and the employees of\u00a0the Probation Service.\u00a0The Probation Service, as a community-based organization, needs civil society support. The results of monitoring will allow looking at the ways of possible cooperation, as well as the gaps and prospects in the field.<\/p>\n
Deputy Minister Krmoyan welcomed the idea of monitoring, at the same time stressing the importance of protection of the\u00a0personal data of probation beneficiaries.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister called for cooperation in the field of improving the mechanisms of conditional early release.<\/p>\n
