Today, the 5th phase of the educational certification capacity building program for the representatives of civil society organizations (CSO) was launched at the American University of Armenia. The new educational program is organized in the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project at the American University of Armenia.
16 CSO representatives of from Yerevan, Shirak, Syunik, Lori, and Gegharkunik participate at this stage.
Mr. Tevan Poghosyan, president of the International Centre for Human Development NGO, member of the Consortium of “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project noted in his welcoming speech that at present, much attention should be paid to the development of capacities of the CSO coalitions and the creation of new ones, especially in provinces and create co-operation bridges between the inter-regional coalitions/networks.
“The provinces seem to be separated from each other. For example a resident of Shirak province visist Syunik when his son is passing the military service there. What mechanisms should we bring to change? Suppose the dialogue between the organizations has taken place, we have cooperated, but it should also be understood that public institutions should be involved as well,” Tevan Poghosyan said.
Notably, at end of the course CSO representatives will be receive graduation certificates.
The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organizations, which are the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (lead organization), Agora Central Europe (NGO based in the Czech Republic), the Armenian Centre for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, the International Centre for Human Development, the SME Cooperation Association and the Union of Communities of Armenia.
