The sixth phase of the CSOs’ Capacity Building Educational program is continuing at the American University of Armenia.
16 CSO representatives of from Yerevan, Shirak, Syunik, Lori, and Gegharkunik participate at this phase.
Ms Viktoriya Aghabekyan, President of “Development Initiatives” NGO, told us that her expectations were justified. “The objective was that I, as president of the organization, received comprehensive knowledge and develop my skills in the field of public policy, as well as finding new partners, acquiring new experiences, new opportunities to conduct effective work in this field,” she said.
The new educational program is organized in the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project, which aims at making the voice of civil society heard at public discussions in Armenia and to develop sustainable and effective skills among the civil society in Armenia, to build a dialogue with government and local self-government bodies.
Ara Farmanyan, representative of “We” Youth NGO of Lori Region, mentioned that their organization is dealing with issues that are being discussed during the trainings. “I think courses are useful. During these three days I have learned a lot. There were people whom I knew, and now our relationship became closer and we think about implementing interesting projects. “
The training course is organized within the framework of The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organizations, which are the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (lead organization), Agora Central Europe (NGO based in the Czech Republic), the Armenian Centre for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, the International Centre for Human Development, the SME Cooperation Association and the Union of Communities of Armenia.
