The first stage of grant allocation in the scope of the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project has been launched. Coalitions/networks of non-state and non-commercial civil society organisations (CSO) can apply. The deadline for applications to receive grants worth up to AMD 25 million is April 30th.
Today, on April 13th, Project Manager and President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association Karen Zadoyan presented the order and conditions of grant allocation to around 70 CSO representatives in Yerevan.
The studies carried out in the scope of this project have shown that in order to solve a number of issues in some public sectors and achieve results joint efforts and participation of CSOs are needed, in addition to sustainable dialogue with the government, development and advocacy for evidence-based public policies, monitoring of policy implementation.
These activities can be carried out both by already existing CSO coalitions (networks) and newly established ones. The goal of the project grant stage is to establish CSO coalitions (networks) in 9 project target sectors or assisting the existing ones, ensuring the increase of their influence in the areas of public policy development, advocacy and ensuring public participation in these processes.
The 9 target sectors are: justice (1), human rights (2), public finance management (3), business (4), education (5), social sector: social inclusion of children with disabilities (6), agriculture (7), economy (8), energy (9).
It is expected to allocate more grants at the second stage. The launch of it will be in the 6th month of the first stage implementation. This stage is not based on competition and the grants (up to AMD 8,5 million) will be allocated to those CSO coalitions (networks) that will have won in the first stage and implemented their projects efficiently.
When presenting the order and conditions of receiving grants, Karen Zadoyan answered numerous questions referring to the procedure of receiving grants and grant project implementation.
