On 10 May, Ms Olga Sedláčková, Expert of “Agora CE” the “Commitment Constructive Dialogue” Project partner conducted training for the group of participants of CSO Incubators of the project on “Public Finance Management: EU Experience in Children and Gender Sensitive Budgeting.”
The CSO incubator groups from Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar and Kapan participated in the webinar.
During the training the following issues of European Commission Strategy in the area of Gender Equality were also discussed:
- Promoting equal economic independence for women and men.
- Closing the gender pay gap.
- Advancing gender balance in decision making.
- Ending gender based violence.
- Promoting gender equality beyond the EU.
There was also a reference to the gender equality strategy. It involves the integration of a gender perspective into the preparation, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies, regulatory measures and spending programmes, with a view to promoting equality between women and men, and combating discrimination.
It was noted during the training that there is a need to focus on the existing low level of child-gender sensitive budgeting mechanisms at national and local levels, as well as within CSOs and CSOs coalitions in order to improve these mechanisms, as well as of greater involvement of CSOs/NGOs in monitoring and advocacy activities.
