The “Armavir Development Centre” NGO, together with the Martuni Women’s Community Council, the “Young Journalists’ Association” NGO and the “Hope-98” NGO of the Vayots Dzor Region, is implementing the project titled “For Quality and Accessible Inclusive Education and Social Support” project.
The goal of the project is to improve the quality and efficacy of the educational services rendered by public institutions with inclusive education and the social services rendered by community-based support centers in 4 RA marzes, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor, by increasing CSOs’ influence on the processes of public policy development and implementation in these areas.
It is expected to conduct participatory monitoring in three inclusive schools of the Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor regions in the scope of the project, in order to study and evaluate the existing situation, problems and the main gaps in inclusive education, based on which recommendations will be drafted to be submitted to the relevant agencies and to pursue their implementation.
The participatory monitoring is conducted by civic group members on a voluntary basis which implies polls with school headmasters, a semi-standardised interview with one multi-disciplinary team, a focus group discussion with 10-12 parents in each school, once in each school, and an observation in each school. The group will carry out the monitoring visits until the end of November.
Training of civic group members from 4 marzes has been conducted in October. They got familiar with the rules of conduct, the methodological toolset for undertaking participatory monitoring of the civic group (polls, observation, trials) to be able to evaluate the existing state, achievements and obstacles of inclusive education and come out with the respective recommendations.
