Project Description:
In the Republic of Armenia many programs devoted to children and families are sponsored by the state and with the help of these programs the families are provided with various social services. Different programs are also implemented by charitable public organizations, foundations, as well as dozens of Armenian Apostolic and registered churches within the work of diaconic programs. However, in the Republic of Armenia the monetary and non-monetary assistance to children and families living in difficult conditions are not enough to solve the real needs both in terms of volume and coverage.
Project Objective:
To contribute to the identification and improvement of mechanisms for raising and solving social problems of children and families living in difficult conditions in Armenia through the development of recommendations for improvement.
Project Issues:
Task 1.
To raise the issues of the services by the SSTA (Social Support Territorial Agency) and other State social protection agencies addressed to children and families living in difficult conditions implementing the needs assessment among the most vulnerable 20 families that will be selected as a result of information given by the target SSTAs with indicators planned in advance. To study the accessibility of the target SSTA’s delivery services, to implement a monitor work with the beneficiaries .To find out the relevance of available tools and real capabilities, to measure the citizen awareness and the level of involvement in the management functions handled by the SSTA.
Task 2.
With the help of participatory method to develop a proposal package that is addressed to the social problems of children and families living in difficult conditions and to improve the mechanisms used by SSTA. To implement the developed mechanisms in the pilot format in the work with 8 vulnerable families selected by the target SSTAs ., developing and implementing 8 social programs of these families. To develop a final package of suggestions based on the successful local pilot cases and to present them to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
Task 3.
To involve stakeholders (NGOs, mass media, public and private organizations) in the process of raising and solving the social problems of children and families living in difficult conditions . As a result to create the “Multi-stakeholder Social Protection Network” coalition.
