The project objective is: to promote elimination of discrimination against persons with disabilities and to prevent violence.

It is necessary to clarify whether there are affordable and qualified services for people with different types of disabilities, shelters and awareness services for them. The project envisages conducting research in the country, which will identify cases of violence against persons with disabilities, their level of awareness, the process of applying to relevant bodies and the quality of the provided services. The survey will also reveal how many people with disabilities have applied to support organizations and existing shelters after the adoption of the law. The survey will be conducted among 100-105 people with disabilities by focus group method. There will also be online surveys among other 50-70 people for more effective research. It is anticipated to develop a standard template for assessing the accessibility and inclusiveness of services provided to persons with disabilities through the existing shelters and accessible services for persons with disabilities.

During the project implementation it is envisaged to examine the inclusiveness of the RA Law “On the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the Protection of the Victims of Domestic Violence and restoring Solidarity of the Family” and  by-laws in the context of disability, ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities, as well as their compliance with international commitments.
