Social entrepreneurship is a new phenomenon in Armenia. This sector of entrepreneurship, which is aimed at serving the interests of the public, has not been provided by law yet neither such practice has been formed.
The next meeting of the Focus Group in the scope of “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project with participation of the representatives of the Coalition of Social Entrepreneurship, who met to discuss this and other problems, as well as the issues of the establishment and ensuring sustainability of coalitions.
Miss Syuzanna Soghomonyan, Coordinator of CSO-Government Dialogue of the project, introduced the initiative and said that the EU funded project is aimed at capacity building of CSOs and coalitions. The project will have 9 target areas, “We have already chosen three of the areas. They are justice, education and business sectors. The business sector includes tax, customs, licenses and free competition areas. We have to reveal and understand the remaining six sectors.”
Trainings based on the methodology developed by a specialized institution shall be carried out in the scope of the project as well. The trainings shall take place in Yerevan and in the marzes. Incubators would be created in the marzes. In addition to the local specialists, experts from the Czech Republic will introduce their experience as well. “The Armenian and Czech experts will conduct discussions and trainings in the marzes through “Skype”. Our partners from the Czech Republic will introduce their experience. The Czech Republic has a great experience in this field. In addition, the organizations that need access to office space, will have such opportunity based on a schedule,” Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Mentors’ Group Coordinator/Justice and related sectors Mentor of the project said.
The replies related to the new approaches are adopted in the scope of the project, the problems that exist in the social entrepreneurship sector and the issues of ensuring sustainability of coalitions in the video.
