On March 22, a group discussion with the school teachers of social sciences within the framework of the ““Edu-Logic” Equal Start” Project implemented by the “Open Borders” Institute of Peace, Democracy and Development NGO within the scope of the sub-grant provided by the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project took place in Gavar city.
Ms Eleonora Begoyan, the Project Manager presented the main objective of the project and its activities. Further, Ms Goharik Tigranyan the project Expert spoke about the importance of the discussion and the method of conducting it.
School teachers of Gavar city and adjacent rural communities were invited to the discussion.
The issues raised by project experts on the subject of social science were addressed to the teachers who presented the problems they encountered when teaching the subject.
One of the teachers noted that the teachers’ opinion had never been considered during the elaboration of standards as well as drafting the textbooks, and added that the fact causes the break between the relations.
The teachers also noted the great responsibility of teaching the subject because this is jaust the discipline that shapes and forms the citizens
The need to develop special tests for children with special needs was mentioned as well. The teachers said that the textbooks as well as the practical work sections are developed eually for everyone, without considering their abilities.
Notably, the issues raised during the discussion will be elaborated and submitted to the RA Ministry of Education and Science.
