On 28 March, the Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO presented the preliminary findings of the survey “Open Youth Work in Armenia: Mapping of the Current State and Background for the Development” implemented in the scope of the “Recognition of Open Youth Work in Armenia” sub-grant project implemented in the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project. The presentation took place in the Dialogue Media Center.
Speakers of the press conference were: Mr. Artur Najaryan, the president of YIC NGO, Ms Anna Yeghoyan, public policy expert, Ms Marina Galstyan, youth sector researcher, and Mr. Karen Terteryan, youth work expert.
YIC NGO President Artur Najaryan presented the purpose, importance and actions of the “Recognition of Open Youth Work in Armenia” project.
Youth work expert Karen Terteryan presented the focus group discussions and the difference in participants’ attitudes.
Marina Galstyan presented the preliminary findings of the survey “Open Youth Work in Armenia: Mapping of the Current State and Background for the Development”.
Public Policy Expert Anna Yeghoyan presented the need for public policy in open youth work in Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, the parties highlighted organisation of the meetings in such format within the framework of the project, assessing the importance and effectiveness of the program, and reached an agreement on mutual cooperation.
