In the scope of the “We Are Full Members” sub-grant project implemented in the scope of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project funded by the European Union, on 7 May 2019 a meeting was held with Mamikon Aslanyan, the Mayor of Vanadzor.
“We Are Full Members” Project Manager Gayane Balayan and Artur Meliksetyan, the head of the “Inter-Community Co-Operation for the Development of Rural Communities” NGO, asked the mayor of Vanadzor the questions collected by them in the scope of the project.
The questions were mainly related to the activities of the inclusive kindergartens in Vanadzor, their number and the necessity of increasing it further.
According to Mamikon Aslanyan, the Mayor of Vanadzor, implementation of the inclusive education of kindergartens is first of all conditioned with the initiative of this kindergarten and is aimed at finding out the level of compliance of the kindergarten through a study carried out by the city hall staff.
2 inclusive education kindergartens are currently operating in Vanadzor. Regular meetings have been organised with them within the project.
The goal of the “We Are Full Members” project is to improve the activities of the community support centres (hereafter: Centres) operating in the Lori Region, suggesting efficient solutions to the problems revealed through monitoring and also paying attention to the accessibility and targeting of services for children with disabilities at these centres.
