The Coalition of CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development in Armenia, formed within the framework of the “CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development” (EU4STED) Project implemented in the scope of the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project, held its fourth session on June 28.
Organisations member of the Coalition and guests were present at the session.
Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project Manager, noted that he attaches much importance to the activities of the coalition implemented in the recent period. “We expected two outcomes from the coalition after its formation,. The first was to monitor and improve the public policy in the field of energy, and the second was to develop capacity of the coalition to become one of the key actors in the field of its activity and partner of the state,” he said.
Ms Astghine Pasoyan, Director of “Energy Saving Fund” NGO), one of the founding organisations of the coalition, they should not only be a group of organisations, but also a structure that has a common goal, tools, and vision.” The project is over, but the actions start,” Astghine Pasoyan said.
Ms Nune Sakanyan, President of “Women in Energy and Climate” NGO, presented the “Smart Platform for Monitoring Community Sustainable Energy Development”, noting that within the framework of the project, it was aimed to create a unified methodological and monitoring platform in the communities, aimed promote the implementation of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Climate Change Adaptation Commitments issuing from the Covenant of Mayors thus facilitating the monitoring of energy projects processes.
Ms Tamara Babayan, Coordinator of Sustainable Energy programs, presented the work done by the coalition to introduce energy efficient procurement and regulation of community sustainable energy stations; Smart Platform for Monitoring Community Sustainable Energy Development,
Ms Anush Petrosyan, Director of “Assistance for Reform” NGO, presented the activities carried out within the framework of the project on developing capacity of women, raising awareness and collaboration with the media, stressing the importance of continuity and development of the results obtained from the aspect of sustainability.
During the workshop the activities implemented by the Coalition of CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development in Armenia, which was formed in the scope of the “CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development” (EU4STED) Project launched in June 2018. These in particular were aimed to introduce energy efficient procurement and regulation of community sustainable energy stations: creating and operating a “smart” platform; developing capacity of women in target communities; summarize the one-year period of the coalition’s activity, referring also to the work of awareness-raising and cooperation with media: developed internal documents related to development and advocacy and fundraising strategies, conflict of interests and ethics.
During the session, an informative film about the activities of the Coalition of CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development in Armenia was presented, which summarizes the work done since the formation of the coalition. Within the framework of the event, the capacity building capabilities of the coalition, as well as the final versions of the internal documents of the coalition, “Development Strategy”, “Fundraising Strategy”, “Strategy for Advocacy”, “Conflict of Interest and Rules of Ethics” were discussed.
