Round-table Discussion on Draft of Armenia’s Preliminary and Secondary Vocational Education Development Program of Armenia took place

The final round table discussion of the draft for the development of primary and secondary vocational education in Armenia which was organized by the Armenian Center for Democratic Education – CIVITAS NGO was held on 9 October, 2019 in Yerevan. A number of stakeholders, in particular representatives of the Primary and Secondary Vocational Education Department of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, as well as a number of other stakeholders from relevant state bodies and civil society organizations involved in the field of education attended the discussion

The discussion began with presentation by Norik Tunyan, an expert involved in the Armenian Center for Democratic Education – CIVITAS NGO, who outlined the goals, targets and performance indicators set by the draft of development of primary and secondary vocational education. The discussion was followed by questions about the realistic nature of the presented information. A constructive dialogue took place around the presented points with the active participation of all participants. As a result of the discussion, the objectives and targets set for the development of primary and secondary vocational education were reviewed. As a result, new targets were identified for some purposes, which have been incorporated into the sector development plan in an affordable way. Further, the features of the roadmap and the indicators to achieve the set goals and the rationale for developing them were discussed.
