On 13 March, the 2nd awareness seminar aimed at developing the budget capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Mass Media within the framework of the “Budgets 4 Citizens” Project (hereinafter referred to as the Program) was held in on-line format.
Representatives of a number of non-governmental organizations of the region participated in the online seminar. Among them, Ms Ani Tovmasyan, representative of “Armavir Development Center” NGO, Mr. Armen Petrosyan, representative of “A. D. Sakharov Armenian Human Rights Protection Centre” NGO, Ms Svetlana Mkrtchyan, President of “Flora” Women’s NGO, Ms Gohar Galstyan from “Araks Kentron” Charity NGO, Ms Anahit Sargsyan and Ms Zara Galstyan representatives of “Smile to You” Charitable Humanitarian NGO, Ms Kristine Baghdasaryan, President of Kanani Socio-Psychological Center NGO, Ms. Arpine Serobyan, representative of “Lusastgh” NGO, Mr. Artur Ghazaryan President of “Dilijan Youth Cooperation Center” NGO, Ms Zhanna Avetisyan, representative of the “Union of Parents of Children with Disabilities” NGO (UPCD), Mr. Bakhshik Harutyunyan representative of “NGO Center” NGO, Mr. Albert Haroyan, representative of “Ecopolicy Environmental Center for Secure and Developed Community” NGO, Ms Gayane Serobyan, representative of the Tourism Skills Development Foundation.
Ms Karine Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO, and Ms Anahit Mardoyan delivered speeches at the seminar.
At the beginning of the online meeting, Project Assistant Anahit Mardoyan welcomed the attendees, presented the Project, as well as the already implemented and planned activities within its framework, in particular introduced to the attention of the participants the budgets.am for the exchange of budget knowledge and its components.
Further the participants got acquainted with the educational program aimed at developing the skills of CSOs and mass media provided within the framework of the Program. The Project Assistant highlighted its advantages, opportunities as well as the results.
Then Ms Karine Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO presented the budget component of the curriculum to the participants, emphasizing the involvement of CSOs in the budget process.
Ahter her presentation the participants asked the speakers a number of questions regarding the dates of the training, the procedure for applying, the stages and their effectiveness.
