On 22 March, the 5th awareness seminar on the educational program aimed at developing the budget capacities of CSOs and Mass Media was held within the framework of the “Budgets 4 Citizens” Project at the Central Office of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.

At the beginning of the seminar, the participants got acquainted with the work done within the framework of the Project, in particular the newly created budgets.am platform for exchange of budget knowledge and its components.
Further the Project manager introduced to the attention of participants the educational program aimed at developing the skills of CSOs and Mass Media planned within the framework of the Project and presented its advantages, opportunities and results.
After that Ms Karine Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the “Economic Development and Research Center”, spoke in more detail about the budget component of the training program as well as about the importance of participation of the civil society in the discussions of budget applications and the need to make obvious changes in the field.
CSO representatives welcomed the idea of the program with great enthusiasm, highlighted its goals and voiced their concerns about the curriculum.
Ms Varduhi Tovmasyan, Deputy Director of the “Hai Ka” Social, Security and Development Public Organization and Ms Anahit Kostanyan, marketing specialist of the same organization, Ms Anahit Kosakyan, representative of “Return to Kashatagh” NGO, Ms Irina Grigoryan, President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Institute of Popular Diplomacy and Ms Kristine Israyelyan, representative of the same NGO, Ms Julietta Arustamyan, Executive Director of “Harmony” Shushi Women NGO and Ms Gayane Gevorgyan, representative of the same organization, Ms Margarita Karamyan, Executive Director of “Return to Dizak” NGO, Ms Bela Shikaryan, President of “International Society of Human Rights” NGO, Ms Mariam Avagyan, President of “Krunk” Non-Governmental Organization for the Protection of the Rights of Artsakh Armenians, and Ms Nane Grigoryan, Project Director of the “Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS” NGO participated in the seminar
