Non-governmental organizations may engage in entrepreneurial activity, but income from it cannot be used on their own initiative, it should be fully directed to the implementation of statutory objectives. This and number of amendments made in the new Law on Non-Governmental Organizations were presented at the regular training for NGO representatives in Gegharkunik marz.
Miss Liana Makvetsyan, lawyer of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project, presented examples to the representatives of 10 NGO and pointed the ways to avoid the problems..
After the training, a number of issues were discussed. NGO representatives highly appreciated the effectiveness of the training, noting that the knowledge gained allowed them to work without problems in the field.
It should be noted that on the 16th of October, 2016 the National Assembly adopted the New Law on Non-Governmental organizations, which entered into force on 4 February 2017. The law contains a number of innovations and problematic norms.
