After the entry into force of the new Law on Non-Governmental Organizations, NGOs can engage in entrepreneurial activities as well as involve volunteers in their work and sign agreement with them.
Marat Atovmyan, coordinator of the project incubators, presented these and other innovations to non-governmental organizations on a new law organized under the EU-funded “Constructive Dialogue Commitment” program.
Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Lawyer/Incubators’ Coordinator of the EU Funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project, presented these and other innovations of the law to non-governmental organizations at the training organized within the scope of the project.
Representatives of 6 non-governmental organizations participated in the training. Marat Atovmyan briefed them on the peculiarities of the amendments to the statutes as well. “It is necessary to be careful so that the relevant changes in the statute do not conflict with the provisions of the law to avoid further problems. These are the ones that make certain repercussions when re-registering in the State Register of Legal Entities.”
There are some restrictions in the new draft law for involvement of volunteers, one of which is that the organizations should have volunteers up to 5% of their staff, which can be a problem for small organizations.
The training was organized in the framework of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO in cooperation with its partners; Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.
