On 19 January, 14 representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs) received certificates of completion of the new educational certification program for civil society organizations at the American University of Armenia.
The educational program is organized in the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project, which is aimed at making the voice of the civil society more influential during public discussions.
Mr. Grisha Hovsepyan, representative of “Compass Center Research, Training, and Consultancy” NGO said, “During these days, I received a great reserve of information. At the same time the information obtained is important for coordination, adjustment and implementation. I believe we will find solutions to problems in the future, thanks to the knowledge and experience we have gained.”
“Civil society is a dynamic body, it is constantly evolving and new challenges and new solutions are emerging, and therefore, there is a need for regular training and exchange of experiences. I have chosen some accents for myself and I think we will definitely apply them in our organization’s activities so that we can work more efficiently,” Ms Nelly Grigoryan, representative of “Civic Initiatives Platform” NGO said.
It should be noted that the educational program is intended for about 120 CSO representatives from Yerevan and regions. Within the framework of the educational program the participants will be trained on the issues of public policy development, monitoring of public budget and public policies, coalition building and building CSO-Government constructive dialogue.
The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organizations, which are the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (lead organization), Agora Central Europe (NGO based in the Czech Republic), the Armenian Centre for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, the International Centre for Human Development, the SME Cooperation Association and the Union of Communities of Armenia.
