Seminar-Discussion on the Procedure for Submission of Reports on the Activities of NGOs under the Law of the Republic of Armenia On NGOs

Legislative amendments have recently been made to legal regulation of the activities of non-governmental organisations, in particular, in February, 2017, the new law “On Non-Governmental Organisations” was adopted (the law is available at  https://www.arlis.am/documentview.aspx?docid=110802). The Order of the Head of SRC of the RA No. 59 of 13 February of this year provides the model form of reporting on the activities of non-governmental organisations, the order of filling out, the procedure for publication of the report and submission to the SRC of the RA (hereinafter, Order). Article 24 of the RA Law “On NGOs” was also the basis for determining of the Order.

For this reason, on 10 April, at 11:30, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association organises a seminar-discussion for non-governmental organisations on the Procedure for Submission of Reports on the Activities of NGOs under the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On NGOs”. The seminar discussion will be hel at: 7 Nalbandyan Str., Suite 2, Yerevan. Representatives from corresponding state bodies will also take part in the seminar.

After completing the seminar, CSOs will have the opportunity to receive free legal advice on harmonisation of their legal documents to the existing law.

The seminar-discussion is implemented in the scope of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” action is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organisations, which are “Armenian Lawyers’ Association”, Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organisation, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.

The overall objective of the project is to enhance the influence of CSOs on the public policy process, and the specific objectives are to strengthen the ability of CSOs to build coalitions and focus on constructive and strategic policy engagement with local and central government partners. The Project has a sub-granting component, under which grants will be provided to CSOs and CSO Coalitions. The Project has 9 target areas, including justice, education and business.

Considering the limited number of places, from 15 to 20 organisations that would register first, will have opportunity to participate in the mentioned seminar-training.
