On 20 April, the first training course for Gavar CSOs’ Incubator was held in the framework of “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project. Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Mentors’ Group Coordinator/Justice and related Sectors Mentor of the Project conducted the seminar.
The lecture was about the successful experience on building CSO coalitions. Information on the successful work of the coalition of 5 organisations created in the scope of “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project was presented.
Marat Atovmyan told us that the CSO representatives discussed the issue of how they can actively engage in anti-corruption activities and have greater involvement in them.
Notably, CSO incubators are aimed at promoting the capacity building and enhancing the effectiveness of CSOs. Their mission is to provide professional and technical assistance to Armenian CSOs to develop their capacities in targeted 9 sectors and 4 thematic directions of the Project.
- Monitoring of Public Budgets and Policies;
- Development of Evidence based policies;
- Creation and/or Development of Coalition,
- Constructive participation/dialogue with the government and local self-governance bodies in public policy development the process.
The training is organized in the framework of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” action is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organisations, which are “Armenian Lawyers’ Association”, Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Centre for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organisation, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia: and is aimed to enhance the influence of civil society organisations (CSOs) and CSO coalitions/networks on public policies in Armenia and to engage in dialogue with the government.
