Today, on June 26, members of the Coalition of Social Sector met with Ms Mane Tandilyan, the RA Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, within the framework of the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project.
Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project Manager, presented the project and said that coalition of civil society organizations have been built in the 9 selected sectors of the project (justice, human rights, public finance management, business, education, social sphere: social inclusion of children with disabilities, agriculture, economy, and energy). “The coalitions have been awarded grants on competitive basis to implement their projects. “Armavir Development Center” NGO with partners “Martuni Women’s Community Council”, “Hope-98” Vayots Dzor Development NGO, and “Association of Young Journalists” NGO are the grant winner in Social sector. “The Inter-Regional Coalition, dealing with the Problems of Children with Disabilities has been created within the framework of the project,” Karen Zadoyan said.
Ms Naira Arakelyan, President of “Armavir Development Center” NGO mentioned that the objective of the “For Quality and Accessible Inclusive Education and Social Support” Project is to improve the educational services provided by the educational institutions and the services of community support centres by raising their quality and efficiency in Armavir, Gegharkunik, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor regions, increasing the impact of CSOs on the processes of development and implementation of public policies in these areas.
Minister Mane Tandilyan mentioned that it is obvious that cooperation with the Ministry of Health should be carried out as well. According to her, the trilateral cooperation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Health Ministries with the civil society organisations will work effectively in these areas. “We will not have any results without work together. If currently we do not have any results with which we would like to compare or have at least a close result, it’s because these agencies have not worked. If the civil society is also a platform for our cooperation, our work will be very useful,” Mane Tandilyan said.
The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO in cooperation with its partners; Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.
