Position: Lawyer/Responsible of Incubators of Vanadzor Office

Location of employment: Vanadzor

Job description: The “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO is implementing the European Union supported “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project, which was launched on 15 December 2016. The project duration is 34 months. The organisation is currently seeking for a qualified specialist to fill the vacant position of the Lawyer/Responsible of Incubators of Vanadzor Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of the activities of CSO Incubators of Lori marz;
  • Organization of project activities and events in Lori marz;
  • Studying the charters of beneficiary NGOs of the project, making changes in them, and harmonisation with the new requirements of the RA Law on Non-Governmental Organisations;
  • Providing legal advice to NGOs on the RA Law on Non-Governmental Organizations NGOs;
  • Compiling and provisison of legal opinions;
  • Participation in professional events,
  • Implementing other assignments given by the project manager.

 Requirements:

  • Higher legal education;
  • At least 1 years of professional / work experienc;
  • Experience in evidence based constructive dialogue with state bodies;
  • Excellent knowledge of Armenian, good knowledge of English and Russian languages will be an advantage;
  • Excellent Computer Skills;
  • Ability to work in team;
  • Ability to work and deliver services under pressure and workload.

Selection will be made on a competitive basis. Only applicants, who have passed to the second stage, will be invited for test. Applicants with the best results will be invited to the next, oral phase.

The Armenian Lawyers’ Association (formerly the Armenian Young Lawyers Association) was founded in 1995. The organisation was established having the aim of coordinating the efforts of the new generation of lawyers, to promote the establishment of Armenia as a sovereign, democratic, legal and social state. About Project

One of the project objectives is to strengthen capacities and public monitoring mechanisms of CSOs working in 9 different sectors. Trainings for the development of CSOs’ capacities including: monitoring, evidence-based public policy analysis, developing of CSO-Government Dialogue, and creation of coalitions. In addition, CSO incubators will be created in strategically important areas of the marzes, which will conduct activities aimed at the strengthening of  CSOs’ monitoring and policy-making capacities.
