On 20 July, the representatives of the Kapan CSO incubator participated in the first Local Government-CSO forum entitled “New Opportunities for CSO and LSG Cooperation, CSOs’ Participation in Local Self-Governance in the Context of Local Self-Governance Reforms (Constitutional, Territorial, Legislative) in the RA” that was organised in Jermuk by the Union of Communities of Armenia in the scope of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project funded by the European Union.
Mr. Emin Yeritsyan, the President of the Union of Communities of Armenia, presented the local self-government reforms (constitutional, territorial, and legislative) in Armenia, as well as the new opportunities of cooperation between local authorities and CSOs, CSOs’ engagement in local governance.
Civil society organisations (CSO) incubators are aimed at promoting CSO capacity building and enhancing their efficiency.
The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organizations, which are “Armenian Lawyers’ Association”, Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), “Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS” NGO, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, “SME Cooperation Association” NGO and Union of Communities of Armenia.
