On 19 July, a number of participants from CSO incubators met with Mr. Hakob Avagyan, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments, in the scope of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” (CCD) project funded by the European Union.
The Deputy Minister who had just come to work at the ministry from the NGO sector attached special importance to CSOs’ work and their support to the ministry.
“A package for changes in the Tax Code is due to be prepared and submitted to the government by the end of August. The SME Development Department has much work to do here. I don’t write off the possibility that we will form working groups and will embark on field work and focus group meetings,” he said.
Mr. Avagyan got familiar with and discussed the projects to be implemented by CSOs in the scope of CCD.
He also noted that the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” (CCD) project provides good opportunities for NGO development.
Attaching great importance to the sectoral training of organisations, Mr. Avagyan noted, “People are born to be businessmen, that seems to be something equal to being an artist, when you feel how exactly business should be run. It is always possible to improve through different specialists, managers.”
CSO representatives also mentioned their willingness to give professional assistance to the ministry and embark on mutual constructive work.
Civil society organisations’ (CSO) incubators are aimed at promoting CSO capacity building and enhancing efficiency.
