In the scope of the “Participatory Monitoring for the Creation of Smart Communities in Armenia,” 20 young people will carry out monitoring of the community services rendered in the Tumanyan and Stepanavan enlarged communities of the Lori region.
On 26 July, Gharib Harutyunyan, the President of the “Compass” NGO, presented the topic “Basics of Participatory Monitoring.” He spoke about the importance of participatory monitoring, the involvement mechanisms and forms.
Sonya Msryan, the project sociologist, presented the households quantitative research methodology, as well as the monitoring methodology in the areas of waste disposal and lighting.
The monitors were given information on the questionnaires for carrying out polls and monitoring.
Coming from their own experience, the participants spoke about the cases with challenges and controversial issues they had come across when carrying out monitoring. Then, the ways of solving them were discussed and approved.
