On 7 February 2019, a meeting with the “Multi-Stakeholder Social Protection” project representatives took place at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
The project is implemented in the scope of a sub-grant allocated by the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
First Deputy Minister Arsen Manukyan, Deputy Minister Arman Udumyan, Head of the Social Support Department Astghik Minasyan, and Oleg Dulgaryan, the President of the “Community Mobilisation and Support Centre” NGO (CMSC), together with Project Coordinator Husik Martirosyan, participated in the meeting.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the efficiency and cooperation issues related to the “Multi-Stakeholder Social Protection” project. The goal of the project is to contribute to revealing the social problems of children and families living in difficult situations in the RA and improving the mechanisms aimed at solving them through the elaboration of recommendations. Geographically, the project covers the RA marzes of Lori (Alaverdi0), Tavush (Dilijan), Gegharkunik (Sevan), and Kotayk (Hrazdan).
During the meeting, importance was attached to the civil society participation in the reforms implemented in the social support sector, cooperation between state and non-state sectors, particularly that between CMSC and the government represented by the territorial agencies in the scope of this project, provisions of the memorandum proving that cooperation, signing dates and expected results. At the end of the project, the responsible persons will present to the ministry a recommendation package aimed at responding to the cases of families in difficult situations, case management, improvement of the mechanisms of cooperation between territorial agencies for social support, local government bodies and all stakeholders of the social support sector.
