The CSO coalition CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development is implementing a sub-grant project “CSOs for Sustainable and Transparent Energy Development in Armenia” funded by the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project financed by the European Union.
The Coalition’s founding meeting took place on 17 September, 2018, which adopted the Declaration and the Charter of the Coalition.
The goals and objectives of the coalition are:
1) Initiate reforms in the regulative-legislative field to promote renewable energy investments in communities;
2) Initiate and support the development and/or improvement of public policies based on the best practices of regulations and regulatory measures to ensure energy efficiency and renewable energy development in the community procurement process;
3) To promote the effective implementation of monitoring programs, measures and budgets to increase energy efficiency, renewable energy and climate change adaptation in the member cities of the Covenant of Mayors;
4) To promote the mechanisms and capacity building of LGs to monitor and improve energy efficiency initiatives, highlighting the involvement of female staff in the process,
5) Increase the participation of CSOs in the development, improvement, advocacy and monitoring of public policies in cooperation with sectoral ministries and relevant state bodies, international institutions, as well as other beneficiaries;
(6) Increase women’s participation in energy efficiency, sustainable energy and climate change, including monitoring and oversight of community-based activities;
7) Strengthen capacities of CSOs related to monitoring, public oversight and transparent and sustainable energy development;
8) Develop cooperation between the Coalition member organizations;
9) Organize conferences, workshops, seminars, round tables, trainings, meetings, discussions,
(10) Implement transparent and sustainable energy development activities.
