The “HamaZarK” Coalition of Civil Society Organisations is implementing a sub-grant project the “Participatory Monitoring for the Creation of Smart Communities in Armenia” funded by the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project financed by the European Union.
The coalition “HamaZarK ” was established in 2018. The first session of the Coalition was held on 4 October, 2018, which adopted the regulations of the Coalition, elected the Governing Board and included new members.
Currently, the coalition includes 34 organizations from different regions and communities of Armenia.
The objectives of the coalition are:
- To increase the effectiveness of supervision over CSOs’ Community Development and Management Reforms of the Government of the Republic of Armenia,
- To promote creation and strengthening of the institutional mechanisms for community development;
- To promote the active involvement of the society and the role of community in community management.
- Develop capacities for CSOs in monitoring, public oversight and implementation of community programs.
- Promote local self-governance, effective policy-making and implementation;
- To promote publicity, accountability and participation in the local self-government bodies.
The objectives of the coalition are:
- Implement community development programs, including community services, elaborate alternative options for budgets, publicize their outcomes, and make suggestions to the relevant authorities.
- Develop a CSO-Local Government Partnership platform for organizational development and co-operation mechanisms in Armenia, including the establishment of an independent body affiliated with municipalities, raising public awareness and active engagement policies.
- Develop and implement projects aimed at raising public awareness, using timely information technology.
- Implement various sectoral community development programs.
- To organize seminars, trainings and other activities CSOs on monitoring, public oversight and capacity building to organize seminars, trainings and other activities.
- Develop cooperation between the Coalition member organizations.
- Cooperate with interested local and international organizations.
- Organize conferences, workshops, seminars, roundtables, trainings, meetings, discussions, and other activities aimed at community development.
