In the scope of a sub-grant allocated by the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project funded by the European Union, on 25 February 2019, the “Kapan Teachers” NGO held focus group discussions foreseen by the “Budget Accessible for All” in N1 Main School of Kapan.
Members of the pedagogical, student and parent councils of the N 1 Main School of Kapan participated in the focus group discussions, 42 participants in total.
Magda Gevorgyan, the President of the “Kapan Teachers” NGO, gave a welcome speech. She thanked the meeting participants for welcoming the project idea and the willingness to cooperate.
Afterwards, Gevorg Grigoryan, Nune Sargsyan, Hakob Davtyan and Eleonora Danielyan, the monitors and interviewers of the “Budget Accessible for All” project held 4 focus group discussions in N1 Main School of Kapan with pupils, pedagogues, parents and management board members in the following groups:
- School’s student council
- School’s pedagogical council
- School’s parent council
- School’s management board
In the scope of focus group discussions, the questionnaires designed by the project sociologist, were filled out with the participants.
The focus group discussions were implemented through an in-person interviews which were recorded, edited and filmed by monitor-interviewers.
The meeting participants asked the monitor-interviewers their questions, which were related to the methodology of budget design, approval and monitoring of accountability processes in public educational institutions.
Meeting participants completed the attendance sheets, thus confirming their participation in focus group discussions.
At the end of the meeting, the parties attached importance to such meetings in the scope of the project, highly valuing the importance and effectiveness of the project, in addition to expressing willingness to continue their joint work within the project, for the purpose of efficient realisation of the project activities.
