On 22 August, a round-table discussion on Preliminary (craftsmanship) and Vocational Training Development Program was held in Gyumri Office of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association within the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project.
Mr. Norik Tunyan, Expert of the Armenian Centre for Democratic Education – SIVITAS NGO, was the speaker at the event. He presented the goals, indicators and targets of the Primary and Vocational Education Development Program (2020-2025).
One of the objectives of PVET programme is optimisation of PVET institutions by 15% by 2025. It is expected that there will be a map of the reform of the PVET legislative and legal framework, a prospective demand forecasting toolkit, and feedback from social partners.
It is envisaged that the PVET system reforms will be in line with the Turin Processes and the World Skills International movement and that by 2025 the building conditions and infrastructures of 2 PVET facilities will be improved each year and 10% of the institutions will have a digital management system. Distance learning, online learning programs will also be implemented, and by 2025 and 90 percent of PVET students will benefit from the career guidance center advisory service.
Norik Tunyan also touched upon the difficulties encountered in practice. The roundtable discussion took place in a question-and-answer format and was attended by representatives of vocational schools, colleges and NGOs.
