In Conditions of Emergency, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association continues to provide Free Consultations to Citizens

In the current situation established due to the coronavirus in the Republic of Armenia, continuing the strategy that it has adopted, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association has been providing free legal advice to the public at large on legal issues since 16 March.

In this context, the period of 16 March to 31 May, the lawyers of the organization answered to more than 1000 questions of the citizens.

Consultations were provided not only by the ALA Yerevan office, but also by the regional offices. The coordinators of the offices in Vanadzor, Shirak and Syunik marzes of the organization were also involved in this work.

In addition to the questions from citizens, the organization has received complaints and suggestions as well. Not only individuals but also organizations have addressed their questions. The companies also sent their questions through the Bizprotect.am whistleblowing platform launched by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association. In some cases it was necessary to send a note to the Commandant’s Office and other state bodies.

Summing up the first half of 2020, the following picture is obtained. In the period from 1 to 30 June, 2020, the ALA lawyers provided free legal advice to additional 132 legal entities and individuals as well.

The organization will continue providing free consultations.
