On 1 April, the 3rd focus group discussion regarding the activities aimed at the provision of separate statistics for corruption cases and the problems facing it within the framework of the commitment “eCourt-statistics” statistical analytical tool was held.
Representatives of the RA Ministry of Justice, the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, the Corruption Prevention Commission, the RA National Security Service, the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, the RA Judicial Department, the RA Statistical Committee, the RA Academy of Justice, as well as lawyers, sector experts, representatives of CSOs participated in the discussion.
At the beginning of the focus group discussion, Project Expert Ms Mariam Zadoyan introduced the summary of the “Multi-Faceted OGP Action: Open Justice & Anti-Corruption Commitments” Program ” and its main objectives.
Further, Mr. Mher Mkrtchyan, Deputy Head of the Department of Organization, Supervision and Legal Assistance of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, presented the current system and indicators for conducting statistics on corruption cases. After that Ms Ms Rubina Mkhitaryan, Coordinator of Separate Functions in Structural Units of the Ministry of Justice, referred to the importance of providing clear and transparent statistics on corruption cases through one complete digital tool.
Issues referring to the mechanisms of statistics management, content indicators and information collection were raised during the discussion.
The focus group discussion was conducted by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association in partnership with the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, within the framework of the European Union-funded “Multi-Faceted OGP Action: Open Justice & Anti-Corruption Commitments” Program, which is aimed at providing assistance to the Government in the implementation of two commitments under the OGP-Armenia National Action Plan 2022-2024: Establishment of E-Justice and Register of Gifts.
