Today, a working discussion with regional responsibilities was held in the framework of the “Commitment Constructive Dialogue ” Project
President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project Manager Mr. Karen Zadoyan, and Deputy Project Manager, Grants Manager Mr. Artak Saribekyan facilitated the discussion. Miss Armine Chakhalyan, the Legal Consultant of Yerevan Office, Mr. Artur Sukiasyan, Lawyer/Responsible for Incubator of Vanadzor Office, Ms Liana Makvetsyan, Lawyer/Responsible for Incubator of Gavar Office, Mr. Hrayr Khachatryan, Lawyer/Responsible for Incubator of Kapan Office, Ms Viktoria Yegoyan, Lawyer/Responsible for Incubator of Gyumri Office, and Mr. Tigran Matevosyan, ALA representative in Ararat marz participated in the discussion.
During the meeting issues related to legal assistance provided to the NGOs and raising awareness of NGOs on the New NGO Law were discussed. Notably, at this stage the Project representatives conduct trainings on the new law on “Non-governmental organizations” in the regions of Armenia and in the large cities and simultaneously provide legal advice aimed to comply the statutes of the organizations with the requirements of the new NGO Law.
Legal consultants from Yerevan and regional offices presented their activities and results, as well as spoke about current issues and future plans. They stated that the interest in the Project is quite high. More than a dozen NGOs have already submitted applications for assistance in changing their statutes. And more than 250 NGOs participated in the training on the new NGO Law. The Project Manager gave other assignments to the regional responsible for implementation
The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO in cooperation with its partners; Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.
