Commitment to Constructive Dialogue

Training on Legislative Changes in NGO Sector in Gavar

Taking into consideration the recent legislative amendments, namely, the adoption of the new law on “Non-Governmental Organisations” (the law is available at https://www.arlis.am/documentview.aspx?docid=110802), which resulted in necessity to harmonise the NGO Statutes with the requirements of the new law, the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project currently implements training for CSOs on legal changes in the field of non-governmental organisations. The training in particular will focus on the institutes of social entrepreneurship, which is provided in the new law.

After completing the training, CSOs will have the opportunity to receive free legal advice on the new NGO law, particularly on the legal regulations of social entrepreneurship and the volunteers’ institute directly from the trainer, as well as to register for harmonisation of their statutes and other legal documents with the existing law.

The training is implemented in the scope of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” action is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium of civil society organisations, which are “Armenian Lawyers’ Association”, Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organisation, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.

The overall objective of the project is to enhance the influence of CSOs on the public policy process, and the specific objectives are to strengthen the ability of CSOs to build coalitions and focus on constructive and strategic policy engagement with local and central government partners. The project has a sub-granting component, under which grants will be provided to CSOs and CSO coalitions. The project has 9 target areas, including justice, education and business.

The training will take place on 27 November, 2017 at 11:00 in Yerevan City (address: 7 Nalbandyan Str., Suite 2, Yerevan Armenia).

Considering the limited number of places, from 15 to 20 organisations that would register first, will have opportunity to participate in the mentioned training courses.

Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian lawyers’ Association and Mr. Hakob Avagyan, Executive Director of SME Cooperation Association will conduct the training.
