Commitment to Constructive Dialogue

Discussion at the Special Investigation Service on the implementation of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework for 2020-2022 of the Service and the Applications for Budget Financing for 2020

Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and Chairman of the Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the Public Council of the RA, representatives of the Association, Public Council and the experts of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia had a working meeting with Mr. Sasun Khachatryan, Head of the Special Investigation Service, and the management staff of the service. The working meeting was held in the framework of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project.

The parties discussed implementation of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework for 2020-2022 of the Service and the Applications for Budget Financing for 2020 at the meeting. Some observations on cerement programs were made as well. Mr. Sasun Khachatryan, Head of the Special Investigation Service, noted that the service plans to implement its budgetary expenditures in a number of directions, including the implementation of criminal proceedings and trainings and special trainings.

Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association emphasized the importance of increasing the cost of modernizing the service and organizing professional training in the context of improving the efficiency of the current anti-corruption campaign. The necessity of training of investigators of RA Special Investigative Service in the anti-corruption educational institutions operating in European countries was also highlighted.

Mr. Sasun Khachatryan noted that the presented proposals were important and would be considered by the service.
