“Probation, Secure Community, Effective Oversight” Training-Discussion with Participation of International Experts

On 27 June, “Probation, Secure Community, Effective Oversight” Training Discussion was organized in “Article 3 Club” organized within the framework of “Capacity Building of Support to Probation National Network” Sub-Grant Project implemented in the scope of the EU funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project.

Mr. Stephen Pitts, Senior Probation Officer at the Netherlands Helsinki Committee and the United Nations, Mr. Leo Tigges Consultant in Community-Based Justice at NHC, Mr. Arshak Gasparyan, President of “Social Justice” NGO, CE Expert in Criminal Justice, Prison and Probation Systems, and Mr.Artak Kirakosyan, Director of Civil Society Institute NGO, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Support to Probation National Network were the speakers at the event.

The international speakers delivered a comprehensive lecture, shared their international experience on probation. Arshak Gasparyan presented the path and perspectives of probation in Armenia.

Artak Kirakosyan presented the Support to Probation National Network, which was created within the framework of the “Step Towards Just Armenia ” project.

The group of participants included representative from both the Probation Service staff and the NGO representatives, as well as students from law faculties.
